Tennessee health officials offering free Hepatitis A vaccines to those at high risk
Health departments across Tennessee are offering free Hepatitis A vaccines and they are targeting those in high risk groups.
Tennessee Immunization Director Michelle Fiscus: “Recreational drug users, men who have sex with men, people experiencing homelessness or if you know that you’ve had direct contact with someone whose been infected with Hepatitis A, then it is critical that you be vaccinated.”
Recent data shows more than 2,000 cases of Hepatitis A have been confirmed in Tennessee and those include the deaths of 13 people.
