No charges following road rage fight and shooting on Highway 91 in Elizabethton
A road rage incident in Elizabethton Thursday turns out to be a case of self defense. That’s according to Sheriff Dexter Lunceford and a preliminary investigation launched after the victim drove himself to an area hospital following the dispute.
“They got stopped by the traffic light at Rufus Taylor, Highway 91. One or both, I don’t know who got out first, got out of their vehicles. An altercation ensued and one of the drivers was shot twice,” Lunceford told SuperTalk.
It turns out Maison Jeremiah Little, 26, was the driver who got out and punched 24-year-old Coen Shaw Powell. Investigators said that’s when Powell fired shots and wounded Little. No charges have been filed in the case.
