Three Regional Cities Rank As Some Of Safest Places To Live In Tennessee
Despite a report that shows Tennessee’s violent crime rate as the third highest in the the nation, three cities in our region have ranked in the top 25 as a safe place to live. Bristol, ranked 17th, followed by Greeneville at 19th and Johnson City reported in at 23rd. The annual report is published by Background Checks.org and uses a safety index that ranks the cities in several categories of safety. The affluent, Memphis suburb of Germantown was ranked as the safest city in the Volunteer state. The report also states that Tennessee’s poor showing is mostly attributed to the very high crime rates in Tennessee’s largest cities like Memphis, Nashville, and Chattanooga.
