Solar Tour To Feature Southwest Virginia Homes And Schools Powered By Solar Energy

Wise County will be one of the sites for the world’s largest grassroots solar event tour. The Solar Workgroup of Southwest Virginia joins the non profit American Solar Energy Society and hundreds of solar installers and grassroots organizations to showcase solar powered homes, schools and businesses and several southwest Virginia facilities will be featured. The Wise County Local Solar Tour will be held next month and will show families and businesses real life examples of how their neighborhoods are harnessing free energy from the sun to generate electricity. The Solar Workgroup will hold open house tours of several homes in Wise County as well as Mountain Empire Community College. The Wise County tour will be held on October 19th.
