High Speed Chase in Gate City Lands Two Motorcyclists in Jail, Third Suspect Still on the Run

Two motorcyclists are behind bars and another one on the run following a high speed chase in Gate City Sunday.

According to the Gate City Police Department, Scott County Dispatch received numerous calls of three motorcyclists driving recklessly along Highway 72. Authorities attempted a traffic stop on the three on the Veterans Memorial Highway, but they refused to stop. They were pursued through Gate City, and shortly after, two of the three were captured, while the third motorcyclist crossed over into Tennessee. Authorities identified the two arrested as Anthony Hayes and Matthew Casey, who each face numerous charges.

The third suspect has warrants out for his arrest and has yet to be captured.
