Pumpkin Farming Growing Into A Leading Agriculture Cash Crop In Virginia
If you’re growing pumpkins in Virginia for the Autumn season, or know someone who is,your not alone. For the first time in Virginia, pumpkins have entered the top twenty agriculture products list in the Commonwealth. In fact, the 2018 crop brought in more than ten million dollars in cash receipts from 35 hundred acres of commercial pumpkins. The figures do not include those pumpkins grown for pick your own patches. It was also the first time flower farming cracked the top twenty list as well. Broiler Chickens topped the list with 935 million dollars in farm cash receipts.
