Clean Public Water Headed To Parts Of Dickenson County
Clean public water is being expanded to a Dickinson County business that once was an abandoned mine land site. More than 356 thousand dollars is being used to extend pulbic water to the Thunder River Outdoor Recreation and Campground, allowing the tourist destination to expand. The business is located near several ATV, hiking and biking trails in Haysi and is also a popular whitewater rafting location. The Department of Mines, Minerals, and Energy’s Deputy Director, Butch Lambert says the site is a great example of how mined land can be reclaimed and developed for public use. The funds were distributed by the Federal Government by the Department of Mines, Minerals, and Energy
