Help Could Be On The Way For Easier FAFSA Form
Help could soon be on the way for those of us who have to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA as it’s known on college campuses. The form with a lengthy list of questions requires dual verification can be troublesome to fill out. U.S. Senator Lamar Alexander says changes are being made.
(:19)…I INTRODUCED LEGISLATION THAT WILL REDUCE THE NUMBER OF QUESTIONS FROM 108 TO BETWEEN 18- 30 AND WILL STOP THE PRACTICE OF REQUIRING THAT YOU GIVE THE SMAE INFORMATION TWICE TO THE GOVERNMENT ABOUT YOUR TAX RETURN WHICH WOULD ELIMINATE THE VERIFICATION.
Alexander says the legislation would remove the biggest barrier to Tennesseans taking advantage of the free college tuition program across the state.
