City Of Kingsport Helping To Fund New Position To Work With City’s Homeless

In response to a recent influx in the number of homeless individuals in Kingsport, The United Way of Greater Kingsport and the city are funding a full time position to implement and oversee a Coordinated Entry System for the homeless across the Model City. Kingsport and the United Way, along with business leaders, community organizations and citizens, with a common vision of providing a compassionate and safe community are coming together to support and sustain current organizations who have been serving the needs of the homeless for years. Other duties of the new position include, assisting with the formation of a Homeless Community Coalition and meeting face to face with the homeless population.
