New Handguns Purchased by the Washington County, VA Sheriff’s Office Thanks to Money from Seized Drug Dealer Assets
The Washington County, Virginia Sheriff’s Office says they’ve purchased new handguns from assets of drug dealers.
According to the department, they recently bought 100 new handguns to replace the ten year old weapons deputies formerly carried, courtesy of $28,150 worth of money seized from charged or convicted drug dealers. The new firearms are compatible with the current department holsters and gear, which will help to save on expenses.
Deputies will undergo familiarization and training with the new weapons before they are issued.
