Greeneville Man Charged in Johnson City for alleged fraudulent purchasing activity at Walmart, bringing meth into detention center
A Greeneville man is charged after Johnson City police say he was fraudulently purchasing items from Walmart and brought methamphetamine into jail.
Authorities were already at a Walmart location on West Market Street in the early hours of Tuesday morning, when they were advised suspect Taray Rollins, 28, was fraudulently buying items through the self-checkout line. Police say they stopped him and he reportedly gave them a false identity, an investigation later revealed. In the report, it revealed Rollins was reportedly banned from that store. While being processed in the Washington County Detention Center, authorities also say they located a small bag of methamphetamine concealed by Rollins.
He faces numerous charges including Identity Theft, Theft of Property, Trespassing, and Introduction of Contraband into a Penal Facility. He is being held on a $13,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court today at 1:30 p.m.
