Bristol, VA City Council Considering Resolution which supports constitutional rights of citizens
The Bristol, Virginia City Council has scheduled a called meeting tonight to consider and possibly vote on a resolution to support the constitutional rights of citizens.
Recently, leaders have received input from citizens on concerns that legislation proposed for the 2020 General Assembly could infringe on the rights of some citizens. This resolution is intended to affirm support of the constitution by city council leaders who says they respect citizen rights whether some rights are explicitly stated in the constitution or derived from decisions from the court. This resolution comes following several neighboring counties in Southwest Virginia declaring themselves 2nd amendment sanctuaries.
Leaders meet tonight at 6 p.m.
The proposed resolution is available here.
