Wise, VA now a 2nd Amendment sanctuary county

Wise County, VA joins several of its neighbors in making a second amendment sanctuary declaration.

On Thursday night, the Wise County Board of Supervisors met and approved the declaration, which virtually covers the entire southwestern Virginia area of counties and cities that become 2nd amendment sanctuaries. While these are not legally binding, most resolutions have similarities that county government will oppose any gun legislation potentially passed by the 2020 General Assembly, which has several bills looming for the next session.
