Woman charged after pedestrian struck in Abingdon on Friday night
A Damascus, VA woman is charged after police say she hit a pedestrian walking at a crosswalk near Barter Theatre in Abingdon.
According to Abingdon Police, they were called to the 100 block of West Main Street Friday night, where they learned several people were walking in the crosswalk when a vehicle driven by Barbara Hockett, 86, failed to yield and allegedly hit one of the pedestrians. That unidentified victim was taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Hockett is charged with failure to yield for pedestrians and driving on a suspended license.
