Ballad Health Restricting Visitation Due To Increased Flu Activity
Widespread flu in the region has prompted Ballad Health officials to place visitation restrictions in all of its hospitals. The health care provider is asking anyone younger than 18 and anyone experiencing flu like symptoms refrain from visiting hospital patients at this time. Flu rates are already high and since September Ballad Health has recorded 270 cases of flu, with rates nearly doubling for the first two weeks of December. The regional numbers are matching the national trend and it appears local flu cases will increase further before declining. Ballad Health is recommending a flu vaccination for anyone six months or older.
