JCPD: Man allegedly threatened victim with knife during argument

A Johnson City man is charged with domestic aggravated assault after allegedly threatening a victim with a knife.

Police responded to a home Tuesday night just after 9:30 p.m, where it was determined that a victim and suspect Daniel Brent, 28, had gotten into a verbal altercation to which Brent then took the victim’s phone and made threats towards them with a knife. The knife was taken away from Brent and the victim struck the suspect in the head with a golf club in self-defense, before getting away to call 911.

Brent was taken into custody and transported to the Washington County Detention Center.
