State Police: Pedestrian killed on US Highway 58 near Castlewood
UPDATE, 12.30.19, 5 p.m.
The Virginia State Police released the name of the victim killed Sunday near Castlewood.
William Eugene Dixon, 44, of Castlewood, was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident where police said Dixon was struck while in the roadway on US Highway 58.
The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 57-year-old from Abingdon who was not named in the report, was not injured.
The wreck remains under investigation. No charges have been filed at this time, according to the VSP.

A pedestrian has died after he was struck by a tractor-trailer Sunday night in Russell County, Virginia.
The Virginia State Police said in a report that the crash occurred just after 10 pm on US Highway 58 near Honaker Chapel Road located 8 miles outside of Castlewood. The victim, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene, the agency reported.
