New Tennessee Law To Address Opioid Prescriptions
The new year will bring with it, several new laws in the Volunteer State, including one that will do away with handwritten prescriptions by doctors who prescribe opioid medications. Tennessee will join six other states that will begin requiring electronic prescriptions for controlled substances such as opioids. The new law is one of many steps taken by states to curb opioid addictions and overdoses. Neighboring Virginia will implement a similar law when it takes effect in July.
