Yancey County, NC Sheriff’s Office searching for individual who reportedly escaped from the Unicoi County Sheriff’s Office

The Yancey County, North Carolina Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man who they say escaped from the Unicoi County Sheriff’s Office last night.

A social media post from the office describes the suspect as a white male, standing 6’4 tall with dark hair and brown eyes. They did not release the individual’s name, however, they did advise residents in the county, which sits right over the state line near Erwin, to keep vehicles and homes locked up.
