TDEC offering free radon test kits during January for “Radon Action Month”
Tennessee residents can access radon test kits for free in January courtesy of the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation.
The department is offering one kit per household that tests for the colorless, odorless radioactive gas that when trapped in confined spaces like homes, can threaten your health. In a news release, the department says Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States. Governor Bill Lee has declared January as Radon Action Month.
You can apply for a test kit online or by calling the Department at 1-800-232-1139.
