UPDATE: VSP identifies victim in I-77 shooting as Tazewell County man
A Southwest Virginia man suffered non-life threatening injuries in what appears to be a random shooting on Interstate 77 Friday morning.
The victim, a Tazewell County resident, was struck while driving in Bland County just before 5:30 am, according to a Virginia State Police report. A preliminary investigation reveals the shooter was traveling in a gold Pontiac Montana minivan that continued down the roadway into West Virginia.
