Two Bristol, TN arrested in Yancey County, NC on drug trafficking and other related charges
Two Bristol, Tennessee women are facing several drug charges after being arrested last month in Yancey County, NC.
The Yancey County Sheriff’s Office says Whitney Drake, 32 and Sara Stephenson, 32, were stopped by deputies on December 20th, and arrested after police located items including 50 grams of methamphetamine and 28 grams of marijuana. Drake faces the following charges: two counts Of Felony Trafficking In Methamphetamine, Felony Possess Schedule II (Methamphetamine) Controlled Substance, Felony Possession With Intent To Manufacture, Sell, And Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance, Felony Possession With Intent To Manufacture, Sell, And Deliver Schedule IV Controlled Substance, Felony Maintain A Place For Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor Possession Drug Paraphernalia, Misdemeanor Simple Possession Of Schedule VI Controlled Substance, Misdemeanor Possession Of Marijuana Paraphernalia, Felony Failure To Appear On Charges For Watauga County, Felony Failure To Appear On Charges For Avery County, and Extradition/Fugitive Other State (Tennessee).
Stephenson faces the following charges: Felony Conspiracy To Traffic Methamphetamine, Felony Possession Of Schedule II (Methamphetamine) Controlled Substance, Felony Possession With Intent Manufacture, Sell, And Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance, Felony Maintaining A Place For Controlled Substance, Felony Possession Of Firearm By Convicted Felon, Felony Possession Of A Stolen Firearm, Felony Identity Theft, Misdemeanor Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Misdemeanor Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, and Giving Fictitious/False Information To An Officer.
Drake is being held on a $980,000 bond in North Carolina and no bond in Tennessee. Stephenson is being held on a $200,000 bond in the Yancey County Detention Center. Both are scheduled for court January 23rd.
