Hawkins County School District reaches out to public about recommendations regarding the flu they received from Ballad Health

Officials with the Hawkins County School District are discussing recommendations from Ballad Health regarding the flu in the region.

A social media post layed out information they gained from Ballad from a webinar on what the health care system is experiencing and recommending. Ballad says this has not been a typical year for the flu, as many pediatric cases are seeing longer durations. A recommendation from Ballad includes not closing schools, but requesting school personnel to encourage students to continue practicing good hygiene.

Tennessee is currently experiencing widespread flu levels, and Ballad recently reportedly a large spike of influenza illnesses in the region.
