Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office will start patrolling church services amid safety concerns
The Buchanan County, VA Sheriff’s Office is planning to patrol churches in the area during weekly services.
According to a social media post from the agency, the decision comes amid safety concerns from several local residents following a recent shooting at a church in Texas that took the lives of two people. Sheriff John C McClanahan also said patrols will be random, with deputies either walking inside the church during service or scanning the parking area for any unusual activity.
