Northeast Tennessee Lawmaker Files Bill To Allow Sex Offenders In Church
A bill has been introduced in the Tennessee Legislature by a Northeast Tennessee State Senator that would give religious leaders the option to allow sex offenders on campus for religious services or social support. The bill was introduced and filed in the Senate by State Senator Jon Lumberg of Bristol. The sexual offender would have to provide written notice of the person’s offender status to the leader of the house of worship and received written permission from the house of worship’s leader.
