Governor Lee Proposes Four Percent Pay Hike For Teachers

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee wants to provide state teachers with a four percent raise. That was one of the highlights of Monday nights state of the state address, Lee is recommending increasing the minimum salary schedule for teachers from 36 thousand dollars to 40 thousand dollars a year. The governor also also proposed an early literacy program along with a 250 million dollar trust fund to help with school mental health issues.
