UPDATE: State Police release name of victim in Lee County crash

The Virginia State Police has released more details about a fatal crash last week involving a Lee County Sheriff’s Deputy.

Officer Roger Gates was traveling on Route 58 on Friday when a van driven by Gail Tritt, 74, of Dryden, pulled into his path. Gates received serious but non-life threatening injuries. State Police reported that Tritt died after arriving at a local hospital.
