Driver dies in Washington County, Virginia crash into creek

The Virginia State Police are reporting the death of a driver killed following a single-vehicle crash Friday morning in Washington County.

The vehicle was found upside down in a creek near Rich Valley Road and Old Saltworks Road just after 11:30 a.m. The report said a swift water rescue team from Abingdon was able to pull the victim from the car. She was taken to an area hospital where she died from her injuries.

The report did not include the name of the victim and the crash remains under investigation.
