Johnson City Police: 19-month-old girl found dead inside Cherokee Street home Friday

Johnson City investigators are now in charge of the case of a dead toddler.

A report from the Johnson City Police Department said paramedics responded to a home in the 300 block of East Cherokee Street just after 11 a.m. Friday morning. There, they discovered the body of a dead 19-month-old female.

The body was taken to the Jenkins Forensic Center for an autopsy. The investigation remains open and ongoing.
