Tennessee Lawmakers Won’t Halt Governor’s School Voucher Plan…Despite Questions And Concerns
Legislative leaders in Nashville have no plans to halt a two and a two and a half million dollar non compete contract awarded for Governor Bill Lee’s School Voucher plan, despite voicing concerns over the matter. The issue has plagued the GOP dominant Statehouse for weeks as lawmakers demand answers from the Governor and the education agency over the agreement of the noncompete grant contract with Florida based vendor ClassWallet. The school voucher plan would allow families to use up to seven thousand four hundred dollars in public tax dollars, on private school tuition and other approved expenses.
