Warner Goes To Bat For Increased Federal Funding For Interstate 81
United States Senator Mark Warner of Virginia spoke Tuesday about the importance of increased federal funding for interstate 81. Warner told the committee in Richmond the concern is safety. The chairman of the committee responded by indicating it was time to get on with the work needed along the I-81 corridor. Increased traffic along interstate 81 causes severe travel delays and puts travelers at risk, with more than two thousand crashes reported annually along the route.
