Cades Cove reopening Saturday after two-month closure for tunnel repairs leading to Cove
The tunnel leading to Cades Cove at the Great Smokey Mountains National Park is set to reopen Saturday after being closed for nearly two months.
An update from the park says repairs were completed ahead of schedule to the 121 foot Bote Mountain Tunnel, allowing for tourists to access Cades Cove again.
The park issued a news release stating intermittent, single-lane closures will occur between March 1st and June 15th to re-pave the tunnel area, and no work will occur on weekends, federal holidays, or the week before and after Easter.
