30th annual Junior League food drive set for Saturday
The Junior Leagues of Bristol, Kingsport, and Johnson City are set to hold their 30th annual food drive at Food City stores this Saturday.
Food collection bins will placed at stores beginning Friday, and league members will be on site giving out collection bags Saturday. The league has set a goal of collecting 13,000 pounds of food this year after collecting 10,000 pounds during last year’s Food Drive. Second Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Tennessee and Feeding Southwest Virginia will receive the food donations from store locations in their regions then distribute to non-profit organizations that serve people in need.
Those interested can also make a monetary donation or volunteer time at their local food bank.
