VA: “No-visitor” policy and no admission of new patients at nursing homes and centers apart of preventive measures took to stop spread of COVID-19
The US Department of Veterans Affairs is announcing plans to try and prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
A news release from the VA says all VA nursing homes as well as spinal cord and disorder centers will implement a no visitor policy, with the only exception being if veterans are in the last stages of their life, in which visitors will be confined to the the veteran’s room.
Additionally, the VA is halting all new admissions, but will allow resident transfers to different VA facilities once medical personnel has determined those patients are not at risk for COVID-19 infection or transmission.
