Volunteers Needed To Help Monitor Great Smokey Mountain’s Trails
With over eight hundred miles of trails to upkeep, officials with the Great Smokey Mountains National Park are seeking volunteers to hike and monitor and then submit a report on the trail’s condition. Volunteers are being asked to hike at least one designated trail four times a year and report the conditions of the trail to officials with the park. The information provided by the volunteers is critical to helping trail maintenance staff prioritize work and to ensure the trails remain accessible to visitors. You can find out more by visiting Friends of the Smokies website under the volunteer tab.
