Sixteen Tax Hike Bills Approvd By Virginia’s General Assembly
There are at least sixteen bills approved in the Virginia General Assembly which create or raise taxes on Virginians or authorize a local government to do so. That’s according to a published report in Charlottesville Virginia’s Jefferson Journal Newspaper. Two bills in particular are expected to increase the state tax on cigarettes and another on tobacco products at an estimated cost in 2021 of 119 million dollars and another statewide tax on gasoline and diesel that’s expected to cost taxpayers an estimated 300 million dollars or more next year.
