Virginia Highlands Community College Altering Schedule Due To COVID-19

Another Southwest Virginia Community College is altering its schedule due to COVID-19. Students at Virginia Highlands Community College in Abingdon are being told Spring Break will be extended by an additional week, with classes resuming in their original format on Monday March 23. The additional week will allow faculty to transition from in person classes to delivery of course work via online and other distance methods to limit and mitigate the transmission of and exposure to COVID-19. All non essential travel is being suspended for employees and all college sponsored travel for students will be suspended until April 15 as well as the cancellation of all large gatherings of one hundred people or more.
