Virginia General Assembly Funds Programs To Reduce Gun Violence

Before Virginia Legislators adjourned for this years session on Thursday, they approved next years operating budget that includes funds to boost evidence based community gun violence intervention strategies. The final budget represents a two point six million dollar investment to address everyday violence that will fund gun violence intervention and prevention strategies in the Commonwealth. Additional funds will go toward community assessments for youth and gang violence prevention initiatives in five selected localities throughout Virgina.
