Tennessee First Judicial District Closing To Members Of Public…Staff Still Working

All Child Support and Criminal Division Offices in the First Judicial District are now closed to all members of the public due to the COVID-19 outbreak…however, staff members will be working at this time. The first judicial district includes Carter, Washington, Unicoi, and Johnson Counties. Grand Jury proceedings in Carter County have been rescheduled for April 1.2020, in Washington County, grand jury proceedings will now be held April 6 and April 7. The office says if victims or witnesses are needed an effort will be made to inform the necessary parties to appear, but court appearances for witnesses and victims are most likely not going to occur until after March 31.
