Bristol Virginia registrar encourages absentee voting in May 5 general election
Officials from the Office of Elections and Voter Registration for the City of Bristol, Virginia are encouraging voters in the upcoming May 5th General Election to request an absentee ballot in lieu of crowd guidelines set by the CDC due to COVID-19.
The report said any qualified voter can cite Reason Code 2A in their request under state law in order to get their ballot due to the special circumstances.
Ballots can be requested by using the Virginia Department of Elections website ballot portal at elections.virginia.gov/absentee or call the Bristol Voter Registrar at (276) 645-7318. The office also offers mail, fax and email options for the request.
The last day to register to vote is April 13. The last day to request an absentee ballot is April 28th by 5 p.m.
