37 New Troopers Graduate Despite No Ceremony
Despite not having a traditional commencement exercise, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, 37 members of the 131st Basic Session of the Virginia State Police have graduated. It’s the first time in decades the agency has postponed an Academy graduation ceremony. The class has received more than 13 hundred hours of classroom and field instruction in more than one hundred different subjects. The 36 new Troopers and one Special Agent Accountant will report to duty assignments across Virginia next week.
