Virginia Health Commissioner Warning Doctors And Pharmacists About Mis-Prescribing Drugs During Coronavirus Outbreak
Some commonly prescribed drugs to treat rheumatoid arthritis, HIV, lupus, malaria, and bacterial infections are reportedly being inappropriately prescribed by physicians and pharmacists in Virginia as a potential treatment for COVID-19. And now Virginia Health Commissioner, Dr. Norman Oliver is reminding and warning doctors and pharmacists against improper dispensing and potential hoarding of these medications. Virginia’s Attorney General Thomas Cullen also warned that federal prosecutors are aware of the health commissioners warnings and will continue to monitor what he calls a disturbing trend and are prepared to investigate potential violations.
