THP: Woman walking dog on Jonesborough road killed by hit-and-run driver

Preliminary details have been released in the hit-and-run incident involving a Washington County, Tennessee woman who was killed while walking her dog Monday afternoon.

A report obtained from the Tennessee Highway Patrol says Helen Branch, 70, of Jonesborough was walking along Sand Valley Road just after 4:30 pm when she was struck by a vehicle. The driver reportedly did not stop after hitting Branch and drove away from the scene.

The incident remains under investigation.
