Kingsport Teachers Use Allotted Days During COVID-19 Crisis
Kingsport City Schools have used up all allotted days that can be utlized while teachers and students are away during the COVID-19 crisis. Tuesday night, the Kingsport Board of Education approved a resolution giving Director of Schools Dr. Jeff Moorehouse authority to design a staffing plan to keep employees on the job during the ongoing crisis. Dr. Moorehouse and the board, which met electronically due to the crisis also thanked the schools nutrition services department and staff for continuing their efforts to feed city schools students. More than five thousand meals were delivered to students on Tuesday.
