US Dept of Labor: 200,000+ unemployment claims filed in the last two weeks in TN and VA due to COVID-19
Over 200,000 unemployment claims have been filed in Tennessee and Virginia through the end of March 28th.
The latest from the U.S Department of Labor says Tennessee unemployment claims now sit at 94,492, with over 56,000 new claims being filed in the last reported week.
In Northeast TN, 4,749 new claims were filed.
In Virginia, 114,104 claims have been filed, with nearly 68,000 claims filed in just the last reported week.
The latest Unemployment claims filed nationwide sit at 6,648,000.
