Several reports of flooding following heavy rains overnight in the region
From Johnson City Police:
Due to heavy rainfall overnight, the Johnson City Police Department would like to issue a warning to motorists as the daylight hours approach. Several low-lying areas throughout the city have experienced flooding, making some roadways impassable. We urge motorists to use caution, and remind them not to drive through standing water. Morning commutes may be delayed, as many roadways are currently flooded. Roads such as Riverview Rd., Lafe Cox Rd., Old Stage Road at Old Gray Station Rd, Watauga Ave. at W. State of Franklin, and Carroll Creek Rd. in the area of Knob Creek Rd. are all experiencing flooding. Many other areas throughout the city also have standing water. Be aware of emergency personnel throughout the area and obey any signage indicating a road closure.
If you encounter a flooded roadway, remember “Turn Around, Don’t Drown.” The depth of water on the roadway can be deceiving and vehicles of any size can be swept way.
Richlands Police:
We are currently asking residents that live near the Clinch River to begin voluntary evacuations, as the river is rising into flood stage now. Please adhere to any other requests or warnings posted by the national weather service or this page.

Flooding throughout the county. If your in flood prone area use caution. Reports of many roads flooded at this time all over the county. Hampton Vfd is out monitoring situation. Avoid old gap Creek Rd completely. It is blocked multiple places with several homes being impacted. River Rd in Valley Forge reports For river has broken over banks. Avoid this area fire units in the area assessing the situation

Massive flooding in Unicoi County. 19-W is completely shut down.
From The Town of Unicoi:
Use caution when traveling this morning. Many roads everywhere in the town and county is underwater. The following roads are now impassable: Springbrook, Willow Pond, Massachusetts Ave, Golf Course Rd. Please use extreme caution … turn around, don’t drown!!
Reports of flooded areas in Bristol TN (Carden Hollow Road, Commonwealth Ave at State Street)
Sullivan County: State Route 93 @ Murrell Road, closed according to TDOT.
