UPDATE: More than 2,000 patients in Tennessee, Virginia in recovery from COVID-19

Over 2,000 COVID19 patients have recovered or have been discharged from the hospital in TN and VA.

The VA Hospital & Healthcare Association announced Monday that they added a discharge category to their online data dashboard, and current statistics show 467 coronavirus patients statewide have been discharged from the hospital.

The TN Dept of Health reports 1,671 patients have recovered from COVID-19, while 71 of the 141 reported cases in the Northeast TN area have resulted in recoveries.

More positive news was delivered by Tennessee Health Commissioner Lisa Piercey. Although coronavirus cases are now past 5,000 in the state, an interesting trend has developed.

“This is the ten consecutive day with a single-digit percentage increase. That’s really good because it means our curve is flattening.”
