Southwest Virginia Sees Uptick In Telemental Health Services
The use of telehealth services is on the rise following the outbreak of COVID-19, and now the University of Virginia’s College at Wise says it is also seeing a 600 percent jump in telemental health services. The Appalachian Telemental Health Network operated from the Wise College campus is increasing access to mental health services to the residents of Southwest Virginia. UVA Wise operates a software platform with Adaptive Telehealth. The network, sponsored by Virginia and other partners is serving mental and behavioral health providers with everything a Virginia licensed provider needs to provide HIPAA secure mental and behavioral health services.
