UPDATE: Quarantine period at Appalachia apartment complex expires
Police barricades erected two weeks ago due to a COVID-19 outbreak at a Wise County apartment complex have been taken down.
The Town of Appalachia reported the barriers at Appalachia Towers on West Main Street put in place by state and county officials to prevent the spread of coronavirus were removed as the quarantine period for the residents has expired.
The town also applauded the efforts of citizens to keep people safe with social distancing and other good hygiene practices during the pandemic.
