UPDATE: Weekend COVID-19 testing in NE Tennessee draws more 1,200 residents
More than 1,200 people in Northeast Tennessee received COVID-19 tests over the weekend as state health officials began rolling out free statewide testing that will continue over the next two weekends.
Data from the Tennessee Department of Health says 829 patients were tested at a drive-thru site at ETSU in Johnson City on Sunday while Saturday’s mobile test site in Hawkins County at Volunteer High School drew 470 participants.
TDH reports more than 11,000 state residents were tested for coronavirus. Weekday testing continues at local health departments.
